A busy Thursday for emergency crews across Acadia Parish on rescue missions since 4:30 in the morning. We ride along with volunteer firefighters as they head out to rescue a mother and her son trapped in their home as water levels continued to rise. Just a mile away a car buried in a ditch under about eight feet of water. Firefighters responded thinking someone may have been trapped. The car was pulled from the water and the window broken but luckily the driver and any passengers had escaped. A long day for emergency crews and first responders but firefighters say they will continue until nightfall to make any necessary rescues.
