Acadia Parish Arrests

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that his office is investigating the following incidents:

August 05, 2011
-Suspicious motor vehicle, Hensgens Road, Crowley.

-Livestock at large, Hwy 35 near Edmonia, Church Point. Animal Control responded to the incident.

-Reported hazmat incident, ethane leak, 200 block of Refinery Road, Eunice. Pipeline was shutdown making preparations for repairs.

Theft of turtle traps, 300 block of Monceaux Road, Crowley.

August 04, 2011
-Theft of medication, 4200 block of Simon Road, Crowley.

-Domestic disturbance, 400 block of Heinen Road, Rayne. Following a brief investigation Zachery M. Heinen, age 17, was arrested charged with simple robbery and domestic battery 1st offense. He was placed in the Acadia Parish Jail with bond set at $20,000.

-Telephone harassment, 100 block of Market Lane, Rayne.

-Convenient store, 2100 block of W Northern Avenue, Crowley reported fraudulent payroll checks being circulated.

-Criminal damage to property, 500 block of Lovell Street, Crowley.

-Criminal damage to commercial property, 2800 block of Crowley Rayne Highway, Rayne.

-Harassment & threats using social media, 200 block of Martha Lane, Crowley.

-Theft of assorted items, 200 block of Barbara Drive, Crowley.

-Report of littering, dumping trash on roadside, Egan Hwy, Egan.

August 03, 2011
-Domestic disturbance, 100 block of St. Lucy Road, Eunice.

-Disturbance, 1600 block of Prudence Hwy Church Point.

-Theft of money, 200 block of Civil Road, Rayne.

-Domestic disturbance, Meadows Apartments, Crowley.

-Disturbance, Colt Lane, Rayne.

-Criminal damage to property, 2100 block of Regan Road, Iota.
-Domestic disturbance, 4300 block of Perchville Road, Eunice.

-Theft of cell phone, 1600 block of Edwin Street, Rayne.

-Report of 18 wheeler leaking combustible liquid at a truck stop, 100 block of Jasmine Road, Crowley. Hazmat responded to the incident.

-Report of tank releasing butane, 200 block of Gay Lane, Jennings. Evangeline Fire Department responded to the incident.

-Criminal damage to property, 400 block of Landry Lane, Rayne.

-Gas spill at a convenience store, 1300 block of Peach Bloom Hwy, Church Point. Church Point Fire Department responded and reported a small leak from the pumps.

-Domestic disturbance, 1000 block of Benton Road, Morse. Following a brief investigation, a warrant was issued for Coty Mire, age 31, Benton Road, Morse.

-Burglary of a church, 5400 Riverside Road, Jennings.

-Motor vehicle accident near Hwy 91 & Clement Road, Crowley. No injuries reported.

-Harassing text message using social media, 100 block of Jagneauxville Road, Church Point.

-Motor vehicle accident, 2400 block of Cherokee Road, Crowley. Driver of the motor vehicle transported to American Legion Hospital by Acadian Ambulance.

August 02, 2011
-Domestic disturbance, 100 block of Country Court, Jennings.

-Animals at large, 300 block of Hwy 365 near Choppy's Road, Church Point. Animal Control responded to incident.

-Suspicious motor vehicle, Morrow Drive, Crowley.

-Livestock in yard, unknown owner, 2000 block of Beatrice Road, Church Point. Animal Control responded to incident.

-Disturbance, 100 block of Robert Drive, Crowley.

-Grass fire, I-10 near mile marker 73, Egan. Egan Fire Department responded to the incident.

-Residential burglary, 400 block of St. Henry, Eunice.

-Resident located boat & trailer with two alligators on property, Roy Road, Crowley. Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries was contacted and is presently investigating the incident.

-Motor vehicle theft, 3900 block of Hwy 90, Rayne.

-Criminal damage to property, 400 block of Heinen Road, Rayne.

-Criminal damage to property, 700 block of Deer Park, Rayne.
