The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning shooting that happened near Rayne.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, the sheriff's office received a call at approximately 3:15 a.m. reporting that a man had been shot.
At the scene, deputies learned that the incident began as a verbal altercation at Cowboy's Night Club in Scott and ended with shots being fired on Tanner Road near Rayne.
Deputies also advised that three vehicles were involved in the incident. Acadian Ambulance transported a 21 year old male subject, the driver of one of the vehicles, to Lafayette Regional Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the face.
The Mire Volunteer Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance, Lafayette City Police and Scott Police Department are assisting the Acadia Parish in the investigation.
Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Maxine Trahan said no further information is available at this time. Check back with KATC for updates.
