Power companies say about 2,200 people are without electricity around Louisiana as the state begins the second day of an arctic freeze.
This comes as the National Weather Service says its winter storm warning in Southeast Louisiana has been replaced with a hard freeze warning through Thursday morning.
The bulk of those without power are Entergy customers, including about 1,500 in Ascension Parish and 660 in Jefferson Parish.
As Wednesday dawned, Entergy's outage map showed one to nine customers were without power in Calcasieu, East Baton Rouge, Iberia, La Salle, Lafayette, Ouachita, St. Helena, Tensas, Vermilion and Washington parishes.
Cleco's map showed three customers without power in Avoyelles Parish, and the Washington-St. Tammany Electric Co-Op's shows three in St. Tammany Parish.
