Abbeville man killed in Pointe Coupee wreck

NEW ROADS, La. (AP) - State police say two vehicles collided on La. Highway 1 in Pointe Coupee Parish, killing one of the drivers.
Trooper says 34-year-old Jason Weill, of Abbeville, was driving north on La. 1 near the Morganza Spillway when he lost control of his vehicle after passing another vehicle.
While Weill attempted to regain control, Graham says a truck traveling south collided with Weill's vehicle.
Weill was pronounced dead on the scene by the Pointe Coupee Parish Coroner's Office.
Graham says 58-year-old Larry Robillard, of Glynn, the driver of the truck, sustained minor injuries and did not have any detectable amount of alcohol in his system.
