Abbeville Man, Daughter Charged in Connection with Fight

An Abbeville man is charged with aggravated assault and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile for allegedly guarding a fight involving his daughter with a baseball bat. Police say Wesley Laviolette's daughter and another nine-year-old girl were involved in the scuffle. According to investigators, when the nine-year-old's mother tried to break up the fight, Laviolette threatened her with a baseball bat.
Laviolette was also charged with disturbing the peace, and police say another charge against him is pending. His daughter was charged with simple battery.
