An Abbeville man is in jail after the the Vermilion Municipal Narcotics Task Force served a warrant at his on at 1003 Dutel St. The task force started investigating Framan Grogan, 63, after residents complained he was dealing drugs, according to Sheriff Mike Couvillon. Inside the home, agents found 14 grams of powder cocaine and seized about $50,000 in bank accounts that are suspected to be proceeds from selling the drug. "Many of these narcotic dealers keep their stash in several areas. Their belief is if they are not caught with a large amount of the drug in one area, then the sentence will be less severe. Nothing can be further from the truth. Another way we intend to destroy these dealers is hitting them where it hurts, in the pocket book. Taking their operating funds so they can no longer continue to purchase narcotics is something we are focusing on vigorously." Grogran was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Bond was set at $25,000.
