New regulations and the changing landscape of the oil and gas industry were discussed at the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE) annual Operator Forum held at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette.
Guest speakers from operating companies working in oil and gas are invited to address the group at the annual December event.
"A favorite event among AADE members, getting the operators' perspectives on the changing environment of our industry and hearing about their plans for the upcoming year helps us all be better prepared for the year ahead," said Nick Rezvani, AADE President. "In our business, staying informed on what's changing in the industry is crucial."
Representatives from Contango Oil and Gas, Stone Energy and Chesapeake participated in the Dec. 6 event. This year's speakers included Rene St. Pierre, Vice President of Drilling of Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City; Ken Peak, CEO and founder of Contango Oil and Gas; and Rich Smith, Senior Vice President of Exploration and Business of Stone Energy.
The AADE, a nonprofit volunteer organization made up of independent chapters, offers a forum for the exchange of information and education, specifically on drilling-related topics.
