Businesses around and in Acadiana are like everyone else these days there never seems to be enough time during the day to get everything done. Yet you believe that your already competent staff could use some valuable training. As a business owner or manager you can't spare people to attend training because there is so much work to be done, but you also can't neglect their training and development. Well the BBB of Acadiana has a great alternative.
BBB Lunch and Learn is a way to get more training done by making the lunch hour multi-tasking. Lunch and Learn acquaints business owners, managers, human resource personal and employees with valuable training delivered at a minimal cost and in a timely manner.
Lunch N Learn will be held on September 16, 2010 at A La Carte located at 301 Heymann Boulevard, Lafayette, Louisiana. Lunch will be served promptly at 11:45 A.M. and training beginning at 12 Noon; concluding no later than 1:00P.M. This month's speaker will be Scott Lavergne with Enterprise Data Concepts to talk about "Maximizing Your I T Dollar in Your Business". Scott started working in the IT field in 1997, and upon graduation from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1999 with a Computer Science degree, he opened his first computer consulting firm, Datastream, with a partner. In 2001 he left Datastream and started EDC. By 2010 he has grown EDC to a company that employs 8 full time technicians. In 2003 EDC was awarded the Outstanding New Business award, and in 2005 was awarded the Integrity award by the Better Business Bureau of Acadiana. He is active in the Rotary Club of Lafayette since 2003, and has coordinated the Election Day Food drive and the Webpage for the club. He has been married for 13 years and has two sons. For the last 6 years he has been active as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts with his sons' troop and pack. Also, for the last two years he has been the Chairman of the FOS fundraiser for the Beau Bassin Boy Scout District. Information is the Lifeblood of a business, how long can your business survive without it? He will talk about, knowing your limitations -can you fix your own computers? In addition: Know when you are out of your computer comfort zone and when to call for help, having a trusted service technician, Knowing when to upgrade/replace and information on viruses and malware.

A La Carte's famous delicious lunch will be served promptly at 11:45 A.M. and training begins at 12 Noon; concluding no later than 1:00 P.M.
