LAFAYETTE, La. - Lafayette's own singer/songwriter showcase, the Nue Moon Revue, returns to the Blue Moon for its eighth installment on Saturday, May 25, at 9 p.m. with performances by local talents Danny Devillier, Megan Brown, Tommy Shreve, James Hebert, Jessie Lalonde and Andrew Toups with Nue Moon Revue vet North Side Eric & The Southside Playboys opening the show.
Part cabaret, part vaudeville and part showcase, the Nue Moon Revue presents original music from around the region. Created and hosted by Caroline Helm, the Nue Moon Revue features six songwriters performing their original tunes backed by a house band featuring Chaz Justice (Revelers), Joel Savoy (Savoy Family Band), Cal Stevenson and Danny Devillier (FIGHTs!).
"The event is a throwback to the old variety shows," says Caroline Helm, Nue Moon Revue founder. "What I love most about the show is the variety of music. There are rock n' rollers, folk artists, country stars and more. It's really neat to hear the band take a song and bring it to life in one evening."
The show begins 9 p.m. at the Blue Moon Saloon in Downtown Lafayette. The cover is $10 for an eclectic mix of blues, honkytonk, folk and indie rock you won't hear anywhere else.
