A disturbance rolling southward from the Midwest will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms later today and early this evening. There may be a few problems on the roadways for the afternoon commute. Although there is a slight chance for severe storms, the greatest risk will be from New Orleans to Mobile. The primary threat to these stronger storms may be gusty winds.
Once it moves east, skies will clear tonight and slightly cooler weather will return. Lows should drop into the low 50s tonight, with highs reaching the upper 60s for Election Day. The system that will bring the showers and storms tonight will roll up the east coast and could bring more heavy rain, snow, and wind to New England by Wednesday and Thursday.
