9,000 pills stolen from Moss Bluff pharmacy

MOSS BLUFF, La. (AP) - Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who stole almost 9,000 pills in 41 seconds from The Drug Store in Moss Bluff.

Kim Myers of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office tells the American Press in a news release the culprit wore a gray or tan suit, clear mask, baseball hat and sunglasses. He was seen on the store's surveillance video entering the store, jumping over the counter and putting the drugs into a black trash bag before fleeing.

Myers said he took more than $4,500 worth of drugs, including about 7,000 Hydrocodone tablets, 700 morphine tablets, 575 Oxycodone tablets, 575 Oxycotin tablets and 130 Soma tablets.

Myers says deputies went to the business at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday after an alarm there was activated.
