Lafayette, LA - April 19, 2013 - the705 and Northside High School have teamed up for a Job Shadowing Project to take place Tuesday, April 23 from 8 AM - 12 PM. The project offers Northside juniors first-hand job experience by partnering them with local professionals in careers of interest to them.
the705 asked juniors from Northside to submit an essay explaining what professions they are interested in pursuing. The responses ranged from pharmacist, athletic trainer and chef, to police officers and architects. After reviewing the submissions, the705 was able to pair almost 40 juniors with local working professionals from the705 membership, its advisory board, and various leaders in the community.
The project is part of the705's mission of community service. By providing the students with this first-hand knowledge they will be better equipped to make an informed decision as they continue their education through college and enter in to the workforce.
