BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Bossier City police have arrested a 68-year-old man accused of providing methadone to a woman who died as a result of an overdose.
The Times of Shreveport reports Sanders Cummings of Bossier City was booked Friday on a charge of second-degree murder.
Patrol officers responded to a call at a local motel Tuesday where a woman was found unresponsive.
Thirty-year-old Jennifer Lynn Matthews of Monroe was taken to a Shreveport hospital where she died Thursday.
Police say Matthews had overdosed on methadone that was allegedly provided by Cummings.
It was not immediately known whether Cummings has an attorney.
