6 youths charged with cyberbullying, battery

LOGANSPORT, La. (AP) - Six Logansport youths have been arrested on cyberbullying and battery charges after authorities say on three occasions they held down a 10-year-old boy, partially stripped him of his clothing and videotaped the incident.
DeSoto Parish sheriff's deputies say the cellphone videos then were shown to fellow Logansport students, but investigators are uncertain if that took place on the school campus. Teachers reported it after hearing students talk about the videos.
Sgt. Chato Atkins tells The Times the youths - ages 11 to 15 - live near one another in Logansport.
Five were arrested Wednesday and the sixth on Thursday. All were booked into the DeSoto Detention Center, then released into the custody of family members.
