BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board has narrowed the list to six semifinalists in its search for a new superintendent.
The list includes two candidates, Herman Brister Sr. and Maria Pitre-Martin, who are either working or have worked for the parish school system; two sitting superintendents from small to midsize districts in Georgia
and Texas; the chief of staff of the large Baltimore school system, and the communications chief of the county school system in Charleston, S.C.
Interviews for the six are likely to begin next week, but dates have not been set. After those interviews, the board plans to narrow the field to perhaps three finalists.
