6 Escaped Convicts from Mississippi Caught in La

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Six inmates who escaped from the
Lincoln County jail this week have been arrested in New Orleans.
Sheriff Steve Rushing says the six were arrested Wednesday and were being held in the Jefferson Parish, La., jail.
Rushing tells the Brookhaven Daily Leader that his deputies and the U.S. Marshal's Service apprehended five of the six around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The sixth escaped convict was caught around 9 a.m. at a New Orleans residence.
Details of what led authorities to Louisiana were not
immediately available.
Rushing says his office will file an extradition request.
