LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) Lake Charles police say they have arrested six people in the death of a 14-year-old girl who was caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting.
Sgt. Mark Kraus says tips from the community led to the arrests Wednesday in Lafayette of 18-year-olds Joshua Lambert and Sean Bernard Newton, and a 16-year-old boy.
He says Marlin Kelly, Andre Broussard and Jarius Watson, all of Lake Charles, were arrested Tuesday.
Kelly says all six were booked with first-degree murder of Alexus Rankins.
Witneses say the girl was walking home from a mall Saturday night when she was shot.
