Stir the Pot: Louisiana Seafood Cook-off and Festival is back for a fourth year and accepting submissions for cook-off teams, sponsorships and volunteers for this year's festival being held Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Palmetto Island State Park.
Teams will compete for cash prizes during the Seafood Cook-off and festival attendees will be able to purchase small plates of food after the judging begins.
At noon, Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band will entertain the crowd with their Grammy winning Zydeco music. The Beau Young Band will take the stage at 3 p.m.
There will be nature related talks and hikes throughout the day, as well as, native plants and crafts on display and for sale near the Splash Pad area.
During the band breaks, there will be a live auction to benefit the Friends of Palmetto Island State Park. This group helps the Park purchase needed items, as well as, put on programs at the Park for the public to enjoy. The money raised during the cook-off and festival will continue the efforts of this group.
