INDEPENDENCE, La. (AP) - Four people were killed when an Amtrak
train collided with a van in southeastern Louisiana.
Authorities say Amtrak's "City of New Orleans" en route to New
Orleans from Chicago on Friday, hit the vehicle at a crossing north
of Independence around 1:30 p.m.
Tangipahoa Parish Chief Sheriff's Deputy Dennis Pevey says the
cause of the crash is under investigation.
No one on the train was injured.
