4 arrests after stolen items discovered

Four people have been arrested after Detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office recovered and estimated $40,000.00 in stolen items. The items recovered varied from electronics to stolen motorcycles and even included a farm tractor, according to Sheriff Louis Ackal.

The investigation began once detectives located stolen items at a residence on the 7000 Block of Jackie Street. There, detectives located stolen utility trailers, power tools and several stolen laptop computers. The search on Jackie Street then led detectives to the 400 Block of Bayard Street, where numerous other stolen items including two stolen motorcycles, a handgun and illegal narcotics.

The individuals charged for their involvement in the investigation are as follows:

Ashley Duhon DOB 09/03/1987
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Joshua B. Boudreaux DOB 11/23/1989 of New Iberia
Failure to appear

Rusty Derouen DOB 03/03/1992 of New Iberia
Violation of protective order, resisting an officer

Detectives also had warrants for a fourth suspect who was located at a residence on the 2000 Block of Migues Road, New Iberia. The suspect was allegedly in possession of a stolen fire arm and illegal narcotics. That suspect is Scotty Latiolais DOB 10/08/1971 of New Iberia.
Latiolais was charged with the following charges:

Possession of schedule II
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of stolen property over 500
Parole violation
Possession with intent Schedule II
Felon carrying illegal weapons
Possession with fire arm with controlled dangerous substance
Subsequent second offender
Creation operation clandestine lab
Possession of drug paraphernalia

The property that detectives recovered was from several Parishes including Iberia Parish. Detectives advise the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected to follow.
