$3.7 million approved for Acadia Parish school board employees

Acadia parish school board employees will be receiving a financial boost in the upcoming months.
Four supplementary employee paychecks totaling about $3.7 million were approved on Monday by the Acadia Parish School Board.
Professional employees, teachers and administrators, will receive three paychecks at $700-hundred-dollars each while support personal will get four checks at $500-hundred-dollars each.
The first check will be given to 624 support personnel beginning November 10th and according to Superintendent Johnny Bourque, the remainder of the checks are scheduled for December 10th, January 10th, and June 10th. Bourque credits the excess money to wise financial planning by the school board.
