The 33rd annual End of the Season Stearman Fly-In takes to the air Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th as more than 40 classically restored World War II Stearman airplanes converge at the Jennings Airport.
The vintage airplanes make a colorful display both on the ground and in the air with formation flying throughout the weekend. The public has the unique opportunity to learn more about the history of the classic open-cockpit planes.
Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. the public is invited to tour the airplanes. Other activities scheduled Saturday during the fly-in including the Memorial E.J. Bowen "Spine-Tingling" Top Gun Contest including flour bombing, spot landing and more. This interesting competition will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. behind the Days Inn at the intersection of Interstate 10 (exit 64) and Louisiana Hwy. 26. In addition, Max Air Helicopters will be providing 15 helicopter rides for $40. A bounce house will be available for the kids at no charge. There is no charge for admission.
