La appeal court Judge Michael Sullivan dies at 68

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Judge Michael G. Sullivan, of the state 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal, is dead at the age of 68.

He had recently suffered a stroke. He died Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Sullivan spent 1966-69 as a Thai interpreter and adviser for the U.S. Army in northeast Thailand. He graduated from Loyola Law School in 1973, was elected as a Lafayette City Court judge in 1983 and served two more terms before being elected without opposition to the 3rd Circuit in 1994 and 2000.

Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette said funeral arrangements were incomplete Wednesday afternoon.
