NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Three New Orleans universities are joining together to hold a rally to raise awareness about the problem of gender-based violence.
Loyola University of New Orleans says it is partnering with Dillard and Tulane universities to host the 20th Annual New Orleans "Take Back the Night" ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
It takes place on Loyola's main campus.
The event will begin with opening testimonies by survivors of sexual violence, followed by a candlelight march down historic St. Charles Avenue. It winds up on the Tulane campus.
The rally and march are part of international "Take Back the Night" activities.
