3 juveniles charged in school vandalism

PIERRE PART, La. (AP) - Three Pierre Part juveniles have been arrested in the vandalism at Pierre Part Primary and Middle schools.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said in a news release a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were both booked on two counts of vandalism and two counts of simple burglary after surveillance video showed the boys throwing food on a gym floor, mixing chemicals in a science lab, using hair spray and a lighter to create a "flame thrower," and urinating on a computer and printer.
Waguespack said the third juvenile, a 14-year-old, was booked on criminal trespassing.
All three juveniles were released to their parents on Sunday.
The Advocate reports the school system is in the process of determining the monetary value of the damage and cleanup costs.
