The second tropical system in the Eastern Pacific developed into a tropical depression this afternoon south of the Southern Mexican Coast.
TD#2 formed a couple of hundred miles south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec and is expected to remain nearly stationary and/or drift slowly northward over the next several days.
TD#2 could become a tropical storm by Tuesday, if so the name will be "Boris".
The system is expected to produce flooding rains across portions of Southern Mexico into western Central America over the next several days.
Landfall of the center of the circulation of this system may not occur until Saturday.
In the longer range, there may be an opportunity for portions/remnants of this system to emerge in the Southern Gulf/Bay of Campeche after this weekend.
