Festival International de Louisiane is pleased to announce the Official 2014 Cloisonné Pin and Poster are available now at www.festivalinternational.com/shop. The Festival Pin and Poster were unveiled at Festival's annual Pin Premiere event held January 16, 2014 on the plaza at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum. In addition to showcasing the 2014 Pin and Poster, the pin premiere is the official unveiling of the Festival artwork created by 2014 Official Visual Artist DD Manly. This year's artwork titled "Unity. Love. Music." is an original painting by Manly for this year's Festival
A New Orleans native, DD Manly moved to Lafayette to study Fine Arts at the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette (USL). After studying Fine Arts for three years, she changed majors and ultimately obtained a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She continued her academic studies and recently completed her Masters Degree in Counseling from UL Lafayette.
Craig Minnick, Board President of Festival International says, "When we were first introduced to DD Manly through her art we knew she was going to be a perfect fit. She is a talented artist who has created an phenomenal work of art that incorporates the soul and passion of our festival family. This year's artwork is wonderful representation of how the connection between our local French culture and heritage to our international francophone community can create a beautiful and unique collaboration"
The 2014 pin and poster were created by BBR Creative, the official Advertising Agency of Festival International de Louisiane. With the official artwork as a basis, BBR Creative designed a distinctive poster that captures the vibrancy of DD Manly's artistic vision. Printed locally by TriStar Graphics Group Inc., the poster truthfully captures the vivid color and movement found in the detail of the original artwork making each individual poster its own unique art piece. The 2014 cloisonné pin which has become a collector's item among Festival fans, also draws inspiration from the official artwork with some changes in color giving the pin a fun, festive feel while showcasing the detail in cloisonné that Festival pin collectors have become familiar with.
Festival enthusiasts and art collectors will have the opportunity to purchase the Official Artwork at the organization's Art Auction later this spring. The Official Cloisonné Pin and poster are available for purchase online or during the annual 5-day Festival International de Louisiane April 23-27, 2014.
