SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Two 16-year-old boys are in custody following a carjacking in Slidell and a chase on Interstate 10.
The St. Tammany Parish sheriff says an apartment resident reported being carjacked at gunpoint late Sunday. When police tried to pull the car over, a chase ensued at speeds exceeding 100 mph. Sheriff's spokesman George Bonnett said the car swerved in and out of traffic before hitting a guard rail, disabling the vehicle.
Bonnett said the teens were caught after about a half-a-mile foot chase.
Both are being held in a juvenile detention center.
