HAUGHTON, La. (AP) State police say a 30-year-old woman died and three other people were injured when her car ran a stop sign and went under the side of a school bus south of Haughton.

Trooper Doug Pierrelee (PEER-lee) says the bus was rotating on its side when an SUV in the oncoming highway lane clipped the rear and wedged the chassis from the undercarriage. He says the undercarriage fell onto the SUV, trapping and injuring its driver and her 12-year-old son.

It was Louisiana's second fatal school bus wreck in two days. Franklinton police say 62-year-old Washington Parish driver Wilda Rhoden died Monday, apparently trying to keep a child from falling out the bus door.

Capt. Justin Brown says the 7-year-old girl was treated for moderate injuries and released.
