VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey doctor fatally shot a former colleague before killing himself.
Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jayson Laughlin says Dr. Giocondo Navek (jee-ah-KAHN'-doh NAH'-vek) opened fire on 32-year-old Payman Houshmandpour (PAY'-mahn hoosh-MAND'-poor) as he prepared to drive to work from his Voorhees home on Wednesday.
Laughlin says Navek died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after police stopped the 39-year-old and ordered him to get out of his vehicle.
Laughlin says Dr. Houshmandpour, who is married, worked at Virtua Health Systems. He says Navek also once worked there, but left Virtua about two years ago.
Authorities are not yet sure what sparked the shooting.
A neighbor says he saw Houshmandpour's car, half pulled out from a parking spot, with the window shot out and a person slumped inside.
