BUNKIE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say two men who weren't wearing seat belts were thrown from a pickup truck and killed when it hit a utility pole and overturned south of Bunkie.
Master Trooper Daniel "Scott" Moreau said in a news release Thursday that a woman who had her seat belt on survived with moderate injuries.
He says the wreck killed the driver - 42-year-old Marvin Overbey - and 50-year-old Gary Ogea, a passenger in the 2002 Dodge pickup truck. Moreau says 55-year-old Vickie Kelone was being treated at Bunkie General Hospital.
All three were from Bunkie.
The accident occurred about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on Louisiana Highway 29.
Moreau says investigators believe alcohol may have been involved. He says routine toxicology tests are pending.
