2 booked in street sign thefts

ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) - Two people accused of stealing as many as 60 street signs in West Feliciana Parish over the New Year weekend have been arrested.
West Feliciana Parish Sheriff J. Austin Daniel tells says 19-year-old James D. Morrison and a 17-year-old, both of St. Francisville, were booked with felony theft.
Daniel said deputies recovered 20 of the estimated 60 signs in a pasture in Pointe Coupee Parish.
He says the other signs were thrown in the Mississippi River.
Daniel said more arrests are expected.
