2 booked in Moss Bluff burglary

MOSS BLUFF, La. (AP) - Authorities arrested a 23-year-old man and a 16 year-old juvenile in connection with the burglary of a Moss Bluff business.

The Southwest Daily News reports that Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputies arrested 23 year-old Zachary Collins and the teen on June 27.

Deputies say they were patrolling near East Telephone Road about 2 a.m. when they spotted the pair pushing a trash can.

Deputies say they found seven large batteries worth more than $1,500 in the can.

Collins and the teen were booked with simple burglary and theft over $1,500. Collins also was booked with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Collins was booked at the Calcasieu Correctional Center; the teen was booked at the parish's juvenile jail.

It was not immediate clear whether either has an attorney.
