CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - St. Bernard Parish authorities arrested two women at a house in Chalmette Wednesday, charging that methamphetamine was being manufactured at the site.
Deputies identified the women as 38-year-old Melissa Huy and 34-year-old Rachel Butler.
The Times-Picayune reports they were booked with manufacture of methamphetamine and endangering juveniles.
Investigators say Huy's three children - ranging in age from 5 months to 7 years old - were taken to Children's Hospital in New Orleans for examination.
Officers said they found bottles and ingredients for making the drug in a shed behind the family's house.
It was not immediately clear whether Huy or Butler has an attorney.
