2 arrested in Raceland after standoff

Lafourche Parish deputies say two fugitives have been arrested following a two-and-a-half hour standoff in Raceland.

Investigators said they learned 38-year-old Sareel Poindexter and 24-year-old Lisa Gregoire, who each had multiple outstanding warrants for their arrests, were at Gregoire's home.

The Courier reports the couple surrendered Monday without incident after deputies said they were sending a K-9 into the home

Poindexter was booked on warrants for theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, distribution of crack cocaine, felony theft, second-degree battery and other charges.

Gregoire was booked on warrants for criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace by engaging in a fistic encounter. She is also being held as a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish.

It was unclear if they have attorneys.
