BAKER, La. (AP) - Baker police have arrested a man and woman after a crude meth lab sparked a fire that destroyed their mobile home.
Police Chief Mike Knaps tells The Advocate 28-year-old Clayton Joseph Daigre IV and 26-year-old Loni S. Aymond were booked Thursday with seven counts each of operating a clandestine methamphetamine lab, three counts each of having drugs in the presence of a minor, three counts of child endangerment and one count of arson.
Firefighters say the couple and the woman's three children, ages 4, 3 and 1, escaped from the home without injury.
Knaps said the couple had seven "shake and bake" labs set up to produce the drug, but Aymond told police she was not aware that meth was being cooked in the mobile home.
