PHOENIX (AP) Phoenix police on Friday identified three men killed when a dump truck slammed into a group of motorcycles stopped at a red light. The crash also injured six others, two critically.
Police spokesman Officer Luis Samudio (suh-MOO-dee-oh) says two of the men were Phoenix-area residents, while a third was from Louisiana.
The Arizona men killed when the truck bowled over the eight motorcycles on Thursday were 67-year-old Clyde R. Nachand and 35-year-old Daniel L. Butler. The Louisiana resident was 52-year-old Stephen Punch of Lockport.
A man and a woman remained in critical condition, including 52-year-old Phoenix Fire Department Capt. Ernie Lizarraga. The names of the other injured weren't released.
Samudio says the 46-year-old truck driver didn't appear to be impaired.
