On February 10, at 11:30 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputy attempted to conduct a stop on a truck near the intersection of W. Burton and Kim Street for a traffic violation say police. When the deputy activated his unit's lights and sirens signaling for the driver of the truck to stop, the driver did not comply and continued to flee from him at a high rate of speed, according to police.
After the truck came to a stop at the dead end of a nearby street, the driver of the truck and passenger, later identified as Sedric L. Green, II, 21, 229 Prater Road, Westlake, allegedly jumped out of the truck and fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, deputies located Green allegedly hiding in an industrial trash can and arrested him without incident.
