$2,500 reward in Union Parish bald eagle shooting

FARMERVILLE, La. (AP) - The Humane Society of the United States and The Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust are offering $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot and crippled a bald eagle in Union Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says agents found the bird after a driver reported a wounded bald eagle walking beside Louisiana Highway 15 north of Farmerville.
The eagle will never fly again. Wildlife veterinarians at the Louisiana State University Veterinary School had to amputate the tip of its right wing. It will be placed in a zoo or a wildlife sanctuary after recovery.
