"The Educational Foundations and Leadership Department and College of Education will be hosting the 1st Annual Louisiana Higher Education Law Conference on Monday, March 11 at the Picard Center located at 200 Devalcourt, Lafayette, LA.
The conference will address legal issues facing university, community and technical college administrators, faculty and students. The one day conference will feature national speakers from Texas, Mississippi and New Jersey as well as Louisiana experts and will cover topics such as College Students and Suicide, Sexual Harassment on Campus and Title IX Regulations, Social Media and University Students & Employees, Bomb Threats on Campus (Lessons learned by LSU & ULL Police Chiefs), Affirmative Action in Higher Education after Fisher, a Roundtable on Student Conduct Issues and a Legal Update on recent decisions. The Keynote Speaker for lunch is U. S. District Judge Richard Haik.
