MORGAN CITY, La. (AP) The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says an 18-year-old's body has been found, three days after she and a 39-year-old man drowned in Lake Palourde (puh-LOORD'), near Morgan City.
Department spokesman Adam Einck says Theresa Hidalgo's body was found Wednesday near the west shore of the lake. The body of Michael St. Amant of Donaldsonville was found Monday.
Andrea St. Amant told investigators her husband jumped into the lake Sunday afternoon to try to save Hidalgo, who had fallen out of their boat without a life vest. She says her husband slipped out of his unbuckled life jacket, and she did not have cell phone service and did not know how to run her husband's 16-foot bass boat.
She said she flagged down some people who called 911 from an area of the lake with cell phone service.
