15-Year-Old Will Be Tried As An Adult In The Deaths Of His Parents

WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - A state grand jury has indicted a
15-year-old, who will be tried as an adult in the deaths of his
parents.
The News Star says the panel Monday handed up two counts of
second-degree murder against Dalton Fletcher, who was arrested in
class Friday at West Ouachita (WASH-ih-taw) High School. He is
being held at Ouachita Correctional Center. Bond was set at $2.5
million.
District Attorney Jerry Jones says that after the slayings,
Fletcher drove to school with a shotgun and three, 12-gauge
00-buckshot shells. Jones says he asked for the high bond because
"of the uncertainty of what could have happened."
Authorities found the bodies of 50-year-old Johnny Fletcher Jr.
and 41-year-old Tammy Fletcher at their home. Both had been shot to
death.
If convicted, the teenager faces life in prison. It was not
immediately known whether he has an attorney.
