MARKSVILLE, La. (AP) - Fourteen people in Avoyelles Parish are facing drug charges as part of a long-term investigation into narcotic trafficking.
Sheriff Doug Anderson tells The Town Talk the 14 suspects are accused of possessing or distributing marijuana, crack cocaine or other illegal drugs. Warrants had been issued for 18 people, and Anderson said he expected the other four suspects to be apprehended within the next few days.
State police and the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force helped make the arrests.
