Loyola University in New Orleans says a recent $100,000 donation to the university came with one big condition.
The anonymous donor pledged the money if the university obtained 2,500 new donors from March 15 to May 12.
The university says in a news release that it exceeded the fundraising effort.
Based on projections so far, the university says it will receive gifts from 2,600 new donors as a result of the challenge.
Loyola says the fundraising effort resulted in a significant jump in alumni donations: 1,000 more from March 15 to May 12, compared to the same two-month period last year.
