$10,000 raised for Iota first responder

Following a weekend fundraiser, an Iota fire fighter/police officer has $10,000 to put towards a new home for his family. Last week we introduced you to Jamie Doucet, a first responder who lost his home in a fire. Ten children lived in that home as well, and they had no insurance. No one was injured, but everything was destroyed. This weekend, the community of Iota held a fundraiser to help the family. Another person donated a mobile home for the family until they can rebuild.

On his facebook page, Doucet expressed his gratitude. "We want to thank everyone for the love and support you have giving to myself and my family. I can't express how much I appreciate everything what everyone has done, god bless each and every one of you," writes Doucet.

Those who wish to donate may call (337) 779-2847 and apply their donations to routing number 065200528; account number 32322747.
