An early morning accident leaves two fighting for their lives tonight.
The crash happened just before 2:30 this morning on Highway 182 just east of Broussard. The driver of the vehicle lost control, hit a ditch and flipped ejecting all 4 occupants from the vehicle.
Police are searching for the driver of the truck who got into another vehicle and fled.
Killed as a result of his injuries was nineteen year old Kamon Bob of New Iberia. Bob was the occupant of a vehicle that flipped on LA 182 near Charles Drive. Bob was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. Bob was transported to a local area hospital where, he was pronounced dead today.
Investigating troopers from Troop I found that a 2004 Ford truck was traveling east on LA 182 near Charles Dr. east of Broussard. The driver of the vehicle drove off of the right side of the road and entered the south ditch. The Ford rotated counterclockwise before it began to flip several times. Twenty two year old Herman Brown of New Iberia, Bob, and a sixteen year old juvenile were all unrestrained and were ejected from the vehicle.
Brown is still in critical condition at a local area hospital. The juvenile was treated for minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and troopers are still trying to determine who was driving the vehicle.
