1 killed in two-vehicle crash on US 165

FENTON, La. (AP) - One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 165 in Fenton.
Police Chief Luther Alfred tells the American Press the victim was a passenger in a car which hit an 18-wheeler around 5:15 a.m. Monday.
Alfred said the 18-wheeler was a tanker truck, but was empty at the time.
The driver of the car and the 18-wheeler were both taken to the Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder.
Alfred said investigators believe the accident occurred when the northbound car veered left, hitting the southbound 18-wheeler.
The victim's name has not been released.
