Police say a 29-year-old Baton Rouge man was killed and a woman seriously wounded with a gun stolen in 2011 from a New Orleans police officer's car.
Baton Rouge Police Lt. Don Kelly says Anthony Jerard Jones and the woman were shot early Thursday during a drug deal.
The woman described the shooter to police. They chased and caught a man who threw something as he ran.
Kelly says 29-year-old Jermaine Ruffen of Baton Rouge was booked on charges including first-degree murder. It was not clear whether he had an attorney.
Kelly says a police dog found a handgun that matched the caliber of the one used in the shooting.
It had been stolen in October 2011 from an off-duty officer's car parked in Baton Rouge.
An arrest was made in that theft last year.
