NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police are investigating an early morning shooting in the French Quarter that left one man dead and 7 others injured.
Officer Garry Flot, a police department spokesman, says preliminary information shows that two people opened fire into a crowd at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Bourbon Street.
Flot says the person who was fatally shot was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Another one of the victims was shot in the hip and the six others suffered non-life threatening injuries.
He says police have no motive or suspects in the shooting.
